Abhishek Kumar
Abhishek Kumar is an Indian painter and illustrator born in Delhi in 1987. Kumar draws the audience into a world of constant balance and the interval that articulates the stream of everyday happenings by nostalgically examining the idea of landscape. In order to make sense of our existence and give ordinary life a lyrical meaning, moments that serve solely as a punctuation to the human drama are depicted. There are moments when his art exudes a chilly, underlying ferocity. Occasionally, unsettling beauty shows itself. The shows’ condensed nature and innate visual allure exacerbate the difficulty in comprehending their multifaceted significance. He explores the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of its effects and the boundaries of spectacle based on our presumptions about what landscape means to us, by applying abstraction. To summon the worlds of our imagination, an illusion is created rather than a literal reality.
