Bose Krishnamacharya

Bose Krishnamacharya

Born in Kerala in 1963, Bose Krishnamachari studied at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and then
completed his Masters in Visual Art Theory and Practice from Goldsmiths College, University of London. He also taught at J.J. School of Art in the year 1992. Bose Krishnamachari is an artist and curator whose artistic practice includes bold abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography and multimedia installations. While stylistically varied, a common thread throughout his work is a critique of power structures that operate within the art world and more broadly in contemporary society.
If colours could walk and talk, they would perhaps run and hug artist Bose Krishnamachari and shower him with words of affection. This isn’t an exaggeration by any means, considering how much Bose loves colours and uses them to create abstract paintings and patterns. One of the most unconventional artists in India, Bose showcases his works for the first time in Bengaluru this week. He returns to the exhibition circuit after a gap of four years (his last show was in Mumbai) with Colour Code.
