Bratin Khan
Bratin Khan is a well-known Indian artist who attended the esteemed Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan from 1988 to 1993. His use of colour and brushstrokes reflect the Bengal School of Art and Rajasthani miniature paintings. The majority of Bratin Khan’s subjects are from Indian religion, mythology, and folklore. He paints in a distinct and individual manner that he has acquired over the years using tempera as a medium. The figures created by Bratin Khan are flowing and elegant, and their faces have a glow about them. His uniquely Indian paintings, which bring back memories of his upbringing in rural Bengal, feature a lot of nature. Many significant private and corporate collections in India and around the world, including those of Mr. Adani, Mr. B.K. Birla, the RPG Group, and Sony Electronics, Japan, contain paintings by Bratin Khan. The artist has participated in group and solo exhibitions at many venues, including Emami Chisel Art in Kolkata, Dhoomimal Art Centre in New Delhi, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata. The Indian Society of Oriental Art and Culture’s 1992 “best painting award” went to Bratin Khan.
