Hifzul Sheikh
His narrative work in a fine blend of realistic and imaginative figuration appears highly influenced by the folk imagery of the Jharkhand region he comes from. Using bold and subtly contrasting colors, the artist brings out the hidden emotions of his subjects which include men and women, animals and plants, objects, and hybrid forms. Decorative elements and motifs adorn his figuration, be it in human form or from the animal world, some that relate to folk tales and others that seem to belong to the world of science fiction.
