Art inspired us to look around. When we look around we experience, it not only sensitizes but also stimulates one’s imagination. Some experiences leave a lasting impression on us. Such experiences crave for expression. It is at very moment that an artist sits before the canvas and contemplates with all the aesthetic means, methods and materials at his command. Realizing the importance of seeing Rajesh Sharma travelled Andaman Nicobar, Kashmir, Kerala and Rajasthan. To this he also adds his visit to Scotland. His encounters with the sea, sky and land in different seasons enriched his vision of Nature. Never before he experienced such an incredible diversity of nature and it’s myriad manifestations in his four decades of journeys into art.

His works reflect such experiences where the nature speaks with all its grandeur and splendour. The whiteness of canvas inspired him. Contemplating over the canvas awakens in him the voices and vibrations. Soon he finds himself in the weaving of the song in all it’s rhythmic notes and nuances. Color flows in the vastness of his canvases and making its own passages like a spring in the mountains. Intermingling of colors result in a wide range of tones and textures that enlivens his nature scapes and city scapes. They are spaces of mind and imagination of his lived experiences. Though they look familiar to the eye yet they manifest the invisible in the visible. This gives a distinct identity to his work.
